Emmett sits in orchard country — fruit, melons, and vegetables grown in the valley. The Digs is in the eastern foothills above those orchards, close to a good fruit stand, with sunsets looking west.
In town: the Cherry Festival in June, “Lost in the ’50s” Cruise Night in July, and the Gem County fair and rodeo in August.
Highway 55 climbs toward lake towns. McCall is a comfortable outing from the Digs — Payette Lake, a walkable downtown, and dinner before the drive home. Cascade sits on the way.
